In this past year, SpeedUp™ has made good progress toward completing a vehicle to compete in the Northrop Grumman Lunar Lander Challenge. None of the prize money has yet been won, and we’re now in a good position to compete in 2008. Our hydrogen peroxide monopropellant design will provide several competitive advantages. It will shorten our development time allowing more time for testing to make sure we are really ready. And with only one non-cryogenic propellant to load it will shorten our turnaround time for a round trip flight at the competition.
Of course, there is a lot to do between now and then. The more money we have, the more likely we will be able to build a winning vehicle. So we are actively soliciting sponsorships.
Why should your business or organization sponsor our Lunar Lander Challenge vehicle? The challenge itself is a thrilling demonstration of rocketry skill in front of a large crowd with a chance to win up to a million dollars. The excitement will be unbelievable. The X PRIZE Cup where the challenge is held is also a magnet for a prime demographic: gadget loving twenty- and thrity-somethings with disposable income. Compare the price and marketing penetration of a sponsorship to a full page newspaper ad and we believe you will see the value in this opportunity. Finally, sponsorship is a way to be part of something bigger than yourself. The history books will look back on the Lunar Lander Challenge as one of the key events in humanity’s ascent into space, and you will be able to say, "I did my part."
We are offering three sizes of decal to be displayed on the vehicle. A 24"x12" decal is $1000. A 12"x6" decal is $500, and a 6"x3" decal is $250. This price includes three copies of the decal equally spaced around the propellant tank so that at least one is in view from any angle. We are also offering a program for people to put their name or a short message (up to 30 characters) on the Laramie Rose for only $25. As a souvenir, sponsors will receive a photocard of the rocket with their name or wording visible. This is your chance to see your name in the sky!
